Location

The Old Butchers Yard is located just a short walk from the heart of the charming 'Centuries Old' town of Axbridge nestled at the foot of the Mendip Hills, ideal for those with a keen interest in the outdoors. Being a market town allowed Axbridge to prosper and the heart of the town has changed little, retaining a number of early listed buildings in the Square and lining the main streets. The Square still has the feel of a marketplace today with a range of retail outlets as well as places to eat and drink including the popular 'Old Almshouse', 'The Lamb Inn' and 'Oak House Hotel & Restaurant'. In addition, there is a charming COE Church, The Roxy Community Cinema (one of the smallest Cinema's in England) and Doctors Surgery. The local COE First School Academy is just a short distance away which feeds into Fairlands Middle School and Secondary Education at the very popular Kings of Wessex Academy both of which are located in Cheddar. There is a local bus service providing access to the surrounding district and for those travelling further afield, the A38 provides direct access to Bristol city centre and access to the M5 Motorway network is available at junction 21 St Georges and 22 Edithmead. Bristol International Airport is approximately a 20-minute drive away.

Directions

From Winscombe heading South West on the Bridgwater Road (A38), proceed for approximately 1.5 miles. Take the left-hand fork in the road onto the A371 signposted to Axbridge, Cheddar and Wells. There are two turnings into Axbridge so after approximately 2.5 miles take the second turning onto Cheddar Road which in turn leads onto Jubilee Road. Take the fourth turning on the right onto Chestnut Avenue and first right into Marron Close, where the property can be found on the right-hand side. Alternatively, if approaching from the Cross junction, the town of Axbridge can be enjoyed by driving down West Street passing through the Medieval Square, where you will turn right and then immediately right again into Meadow Street. The property will then shortly be found on your right.
